Job Description

Open to internal & external candidates.

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Engineer to join the team of Reliability Engineers at our Huntly Mine Mobile Maintenance department.  This is a Monday to Friday drive in, drive out position.

As a Reliability Engineer you will play an integral role in supporting WA Mining Operations. In this role you will identify long term opportunities for improvement through a focus on equipment reliability, improving plant capacity, and the provision of technical assistance. You will also provide single point accountability for engineering support in the day to day operations.

Your role as a Reliability Engineer will be challenging and diverse. You will have a strong customer focus.  As part of the operating centre team, you will be a key player in improving mine performance in the short and long terms.

Your contribution will include:

  • leading root cause analysis investigation of failures
  • providing expert engineering advice for operations and maintenance “day to day” activities
  • developing work scopes for major equipment repairs using fitness for service approaches
  • developing and improving equipment management strategies using a suite of reliability approaches
  • identifying longer term business improvement opportunities
  • involvement with capital projects

Qualifications

To ensure your success in this role, you must possess a tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have the ability to communicate at all levels.  A demonstrated commitment to Environment, Health and Safety is essential as is previous experience in a plant engineering environment. Previous experience in maintenance, reliability or plant engineering will be highly regarded.  You will be self-motivated with a desire to learn new skills, and have a sound track record in pro-active problem solving.  Your use of initiative and a desire to continuously improve business performance will be utilised in a dynamic team environment.
