Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Data Analytics & Software Engineer to join the Manufacturing Execution Group.  This is a specialist role in the Information Technology and Automation Solutions (ITAS) Global Refining team.  You will provide services and advice in the areas of software development, software integration, data management, visualisation, and analytics to achieve Refining business unit objectives.

You will be responsible for improvement activities and project work involving both our corporate office and global refineries, as well as consulting, planning, designing, implementing and integrating software systems that directly support Alumina refinery operations, including unlocking value from historized sensor data and other business data repositories. There is an expectation that you will improve the organizational understanding and adoption of data analytics to ensure that the assigned customer group derives the maximum benefit from the use of available information by leveraging standardised, sustainable and supportable systems

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to translate user requirements into technical solutions that support and optimise information workflows.

We are looking for a team player with advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with a  background in full stack software development in a .NET development environment, devops processes, source control and change management practices.  You will be required to have an understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning tools, workflows, and algorithms with a focus on predictive analytics along with exposure to Microsoft Azure platform, Office 365 and MS Teams APIs, MS SQL and Oracle.  A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field would be highly regarded
