Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Marketing Engineer/Advisor to assist in delivering Alcoa Bauxite’s growth strategy of an additional 10Mtpa bauxite supply. This position can be based in Perth/Australia or Shanghai/China.

Reporting to the Business Development and Technical Manager this role supports strategy development and is the technical marketing interface to customers in the Pacific region. It combines technical (or operational) Alumina refinery experience and commercial and customer relationship skills to help develop new customers and support existing customers.

This position requires both Commercial and Technical Skills. The technical skills include expert knowledge of Alumina Refining process and understanding of bauxite specifications and its applications. In this role you will develop - or further develop - your commercial skills such as marketing and sales, contract negotiations, logistics / procurement supply and customer relationship management.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will also be able to demonstrate experience in effective communication and the ability to collaboratively find solutions with technical and commercial professionals.

To be considered for this role you will be fluent in English and Mandarin, and will hold a tertiary bachelor degree in engineering or science. Additional business, marketing, supply chain management or MBA qualifications would be an advantage.
