Job Description

This position is a key Lean Manufacturing role in Alcoa's Cast Products Center of Excellence supporting Alcoa’s 15 globally located Casthouses. This position is for a ABS (Alcoa Business Systems) role with experience in Lean Manufacturing principles and aluminum Casthouse operations. Primary responsibilities include providing on-site plant support to our Continuous Improvement efforts in developing A3's, seting up daily management systems, driving the implementation of core operating standards, helping analyze and support root cause of downtime events on major process centers, conducting Kaizen events to drive process improvement, driving standardization, and working towards higher levels of productivity. This position reports to the Operational Excellence Manager in the Cast Products CoE located in Knoxville, TN.

The position requires the individual to be able to work well with a broad group of cultures.  The position requires the desire and ability to travel extensively (at least 50%) with roughly half of the travel being international.  Operating locations include Brazil, Canada, US, Norway, Iceland, Saudi Arabia, and Spain. The location of the individual is preferred to be in Knoxville, but other Alcoa locations will be considered due to the large percentage of travel.  International relocation and sponsorship may be provided, based upon business need.

Qualifications

Basic
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
  • Five (5+) years of casthouse experience
  • Ability to travel to worldwide Alcoa facilities

Preferred

  • Lean manufacturing casthouse operations experience preferred
