Job Description
Within the EPC organization and leading an international team of a dozen professionals, the Head of Procurement is accountable for defining, steering and governing Akuo’s Group‑wide procurement, contracting and supply chain strategy across Europe and the Americas for solar, wind and battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
This is a key leadership role with direct impact on project competitiveness and value creation. The role ensures the delivery of competitive, resilient and financially robust procurement solutions across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage development and FID through construction, commissioning and operations.
Acting as a key business partner, the Head of Procurement provides a consolidated view of spend, contractual commitments and supply chain flows at Group level, while driving resource allocation, performance and operational excellence.
Global Procurement Strategy & Leadership
Define and implement a group-wide procurement and supply-chain strategy aligned with business priorities, portfolio growth targets and investment objectives.
Provide a consolidated global view of procurement spend, contractual exposure and logistics flows to support strategic decision-making.
Lead the prioritization of project needs and allocation of Procurement, Contracting and Supply Chain resources across regions and projects.
Establish robust governance, processes and standards ensuring consistency, scalability and efficiency across geographies.
Build, lead and develop a high-performing international team, fostering accountability, collaboration and capability development.
Develop strategic supplier partnerships and framework agreements to secure long-term capacity, competitiveness and execution reliability.
Performance & Operational Excellence
Drive overall procurement performance across cost, schedule, quality and cash objectives.
Ensure competitiveness of sourcing strategies and robustness of supply chains, securing availability of critical equipment and services.
Define and implement category strategies (WTG, PVM, BESS, Structures, Inverters, HV equipment, EPC/BOP, logistics), leveraging scale and market intelligence.
Lead global sourcing and tendering processes (RFP/RFQ) and negotiate technically and financially robust contracts (equipment supply, EPC/EPCM, multi-contracting, O&M, LTSA and other services).
Ensure strong risk management practices across procurement, contracting and logistics (supplier risk, contractual exposure, market volatility).
Drive continuous improvement of methods, tools, standards and procurement frameworks, embedding lessons learned and best practices.
Develop procurement capabilities and animate the procurement community to ensure alignment, expertise and performance.
Cross-functional support & project contribution
Act as a strategic partner to Engineering, Development, Construction, Finance, Legal and Operations to align procurement with project strategy, budget, and delivery timelines.
Operate through regional and category leads, ensuring consistent execution and adherence to Group standards, with direct senior involvement on priority, complex or at‑risk projects.
Secure economic, contractual and supply chain performance throughout project development, execution and operations.
Ensure alignment between contractual risk allocation, insurance coverage, internal policies and lender expectations to support financial close.
Support project teams and entities in supplier risk management and contract execution, including claims and performance monitoring.
Contribute to the competitiveness of bids and successful project delivery across the portfolio.
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years’ experience in procurement, contracting or commercial roles within renewable energy, infrastructure or EPC‑driven environments.
Proven track record in strategic sourcing, EPC contracting and high‑value negotiations with Tier‑1 OEMs and contractors.
Solid understanding of project lifecycle and project finance (including lenders’ expectations and profitability requirements).
Demonstrated leadership, in international and matrix organizations, including team management and resource allocation.
Strong commercial acumen, analytical mindset and risk-based decision making.
Fluent English and French required.
