Job Description

The Marketing Operations Manager will help Akeneo’s marketing team design, implement, integrate, and operate world-class marketing technology so that we can automate critical tasks, measure and report on outcomes, and make better decisions. Collaborating with a team of revenue operations managers, you will support the global marketing team who work in email marketing, paid advertising, content marketing, event marketing, website operations, marketing analytics, and CRM.

The successful candidate will understand how the marketing team achieves its growth objectives and how marketing technology and automation can accelerate that growth. 

The Marketing Operations Manager will ensure strategic process alignment between marketing, sales, post-sales and across applications, data, insights, actions, metrics, and goals. As an experienced CRM/Marketing Automation systems administrator, this individual will build frameworks within our systems and optimize our use of the martech stack as directed. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders globally to minimize CX gaps and maximize program outcomes, integrating efforts toward revenue and customer goals.

The Kinds of Things You’ll Do

  • There are 4 key elements of this role:

    • Organize process & systems: analyze data and historical trends to provide insight and identify operational improvements that the department could make; optimize all marketing tasks and systems to properly implement the overarching strategy. 

    • Prioritize projects: determine which projects will take precedence on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

    • Daily campaign effectiveness: use key data and marketing metrics to create reports that measure and display the performance of our marketing department as a whole

    • Deliver insights: keep senior marketing leadership and key global stakeholders up to date with ongoing analysis to ensure we understand how the marketing budget is being spent, monitored, and altered to push us toward our organizational goals

    • Align teams: ensure that marketing and other key stakeholders (finance, sales, customer service, executives) are enabled on an ongoing basis on the areas of marketing operations that are pertinent to them

  • Evaluate, optimize, and administrate martech stack to achieve marketing objectives; implement integrations and metadata frameworks including custom objects, fields, automations, audits, and reports

  • Review, recommend, implement, and integrate marketing stack components that include data warehousing (storing, cleansing, enriching), advertising technology for both prospecting and retargeting, multitouch attribution, data visualization, customer journey mapping and funnel analysis, content management, lead/account management, and more.

  • Develop and implement a strong field enablement program (to ensure alignment with marketing process, tracking and reporting)

  • Stay up to date on latest data cleansing and enrichment technologies and recommend optimization approaches for our demand, conversion and ABM programs

  • Work with Finance, Sales and CSM team to create target goals for demand funnel stages, budget to projects, forecasting, and modeling

  • Build out and regularly report on a CMO view of campaign performance, conversion, ROI, alignment to plan, and achievement against goals

  • Identify gaps and opportunities in the marketing plan and propose solutions to the appropriate stakeholders

  • Build and present executive decks including segment and program analyses, marketing briefs, and campaign recaps

  • Go hands-on-keys to help the marketing team execute email marketing and retargeting campaigns, landing pages, reporting, visualization, and more.

  • Refine and implement our lead scoring and routing system.

  • Monitor and regularly report on campaign performance to ensure smooth, consistent operations and raise alerts (and recommendations) as needed

  • Maintain vendor relationships and recommend, plan for and execute on upgrades as needed.

Qualifications

  • You’re a natural leader -- you know your weaknesses and when to ask for help; you know your strengths and inspire others to learn from you and achieve above their potential

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing operations at high-growth SaaS technology companies

  • A scrappy, ‘get it done’ attitude; resourceful and creative

  • You act with empathy and communicate with honesty, candor, and respect

  • You have a strong command of the entire martech stack

  • Solutions-oriented, from problem identification, to root cause analysis, design, implementation, and communication of process improvements

  • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills with proven ability to work across departments, build consensus, and drive efficiency to the bottom line

  • A good balance of creative, strategic and operational thinking
