Job Title: CalAIM Project Manager
Employment Type: 12-Month Contract
Location: California (Bay Area preferred) – Hybrid (Onsite as needed)
Project Overview:
The County of San Mateo Correctional Health Services is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead the implementation of the CalAIM initiative, which enables the jail to bill Medi-Cal for services provided during incarceration. This project impacts multiple Epic modules (ClinDOC, Orders, HB, PB, Grand Central, Claims, Population Health) and requires rigorous adherence to Medi-Cal compliance and operational transformation.
Scope of Work / Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver the CalAIM initiative on time and within budget.
Develop and maintain project artifacts, including the Project Charter, Project Plan, and RAID Log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
Manage project milestones, track deliverables, and ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations.
Facilitate regular status meetings and provide timely updates to internal and external partners.
Coordinate with technical teams, business analysts, clinical leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
Navigate shifting priorities while maintaining project momentum and quality.
Ensure project outcomes comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Examples of Duties:
Draft and maintain detailed project plans and charters.
Conduct risk assessments and issue resolution tracking.
Serve as liaison between stakeholders and technical teams.
Organize project meetings and communicate deliverables and status clearly.
Support workflow documentation and implementation planning across impacted Epic modules.
Minimum Qualifications:
5–7 years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare or public sector environments.
Experience with the CalAIM initiative or similar healthcare compliance projects.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Experience working with Epic systems (certification not required).
Background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and workflow documentation.
Job Description
Location Requirements:
Must be located in California.
Bay Area candidates strongly preferred.
Must be able to pass a background check and gain clearance for access to the jail facility.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience.
