Role: Product Owner
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 14 months
Roles and Responsibilities:
Resources in this position are expected to be able to plan, organize, execute, and track the delivery of the phase 2 efforts of a newly delivered software (iTOA) that helps operational business units request and manage needs related to operating the electrical grid. This resource will help setup a new Agile delivery team, and help define the scope for the Phase 2 delivery, then manage the oversight of that delivery. This resource will require connecting various stakeholders in both IT and operational lines of business to ensure effective delivery and adoption of the toolset. Ability to understand and quickly pick up on the business processes used in the areas assigned. Ability to work with limited direction / able to take limited direction and work independently. Strong working knowledge of Agile and project management software and ability to track, project and report on project status. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and utilize new technology/applications on a routine basis. Ability to multitask and to work effectively in a changing environment with numerous distractions and interruptions. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, customer relations skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience working in a team environment Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint)
ü 5-10 years relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment.
ü Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience shipping software.
ü Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs where you have the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals.
ü Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team.
ü Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate in our product space.
ü Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities.
ü Understanding of and experience working in a development environment.
ü Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science, marketing or related business degree, MBA/MIS/MS desired.
