Job Description
The Sales Engineer is responsible for assisting the sales team to drive revenue by helping to qualify accounts, answering RFP/RFI, preparing and delivering solution-based product presentations, producing customer network/solution diagrams, demonstrating AireSpring products and services, supporting trials that meet customer business requirements, training and mentoring staff and agents on technical material and products, ensuring that all customer Sales Engineer solutions meet or exceed customer requirements while complying with all AireSpring technical, product, and financial requirements, assisting product and development teams in generating or modifying AireSpring products, and working with Marketing to complete white papers, collateral, and external training material.
As a member of the Sales Engineering team, you will also be responsible for handling technical questions or issues that arise during a sales cycle while setting the appropriate customer expectation. As the Sales Engineer Lead, you may travel to agent, customer, and trade show locations and events in order to complete presentations, participate in meetings, and to support Sales, Product, and/or Business Development activity.
Qualifications
Technical Requirements:
In depth experience and knowledge on the following protocols and services:
- Customer intra and inter carrier MPLS private networking.
- SD WAN customer networks.
- Cisco, Adtran and Juniper CPE.
- Fiber and Copper Ethernet, DS-x, DOCSIS, xDSL, LTE, 3G, SONET, ATM, and FR local access loops and related technologies.
- TCP/IP routing and switching
- SIP trunking
- Hosted PBX platforms and VoIP phones
- Predictive and manual dialers.
- TCP/IP firewall and security.
- Cloud computing.
- Hosted agent and contact center applications.
- Legacy PSTN, TFN, DID, PRI and BRA infrastructure and functionality.
- IPsec aggregation and termination services.
Qualifications:
- Must have extensive experience in a similar role at a prior large integrated voice and data telecommunications carrier.
- Possess strong leadership and knowledge transfer skills.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure collaboration on solutions and swift resolution of problems.
- Good team work skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and display skills for customer interaction (Visio, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, conference calls, etc.).
- Able to communicate concepts in both technical and layman’s terms.
- Customer focused and able to work with minimum supervision.
