Air New Zealand is on an accelerated journey to become the world’s leading digital airline. We’re looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to help support and improve the systems behind operational risk and safety at Air New Zealand.
You’ll provide technical analysis and support across business applications, becoming a trusted subject matter expert in the systems and processes they support. You’ll also lead enhancements that improve how our services work for the business.
As a senior member of the team, you’ll share your knowledge, mentor other Systems Analysts and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.
How you’ll make an impact
- Gather requirements for system and process enhancements, and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Advise on application configuration, access, upgrades, maintenance, compliance and change impacts, identifying improvements and guiding others
- Triage incidents, service requests, errors, access issues and user queries, working to agreed service measures and applying service management practices
- Build and improve support articles, reusable documentation, user guidance and training materials
- Manage vendor relationships, identify service level agreement (SLA) gaps, review contract terms and contribute to RFI and RFP activities
- Find practical ways to improve and automate services, using available and emerging technologies, including AI where appropriate
- Share Systems Analysis practices, mentor colleagues and contribute to onboarding, Chapter initiatives and knowledge sharing
- Connect technology strategy with the needs of our systems, services and wider business, while working with other specialists to support broader team outcomes
What you’ll bring
- At least four years’ experience in systems analysis, business analysis, application support, product operations or a related technology role
- Experience gathering requirements and documenting business and technical concepts for different audiences
- Knowledge of application configuration and lifecycle activities, including access, upgrades, maintenance, compliance and change impact analysis
- Understanding of service management practices, including incident, change, problem and service configuration management
- Strong systems analysis, process mapping, problem-solving and requirements elicitation skills
- The ability to connect business needs, technical constraints and operational service outcomes
- Experience working with vendors and partners, creating support documentation, and providing training or guidance to others
- An improvement mindset, with the ability to turn opportunities into practical changes or automation pathways
