Job Description

We're looking for a Sales Engineer to join our fast-growing startup and lead an exciting new product, code-named “Firewall.”

Firewall is an open-core security solution that complements existing web application firewalls, and that helps engineers protect their application at runtime with just one line of code. It sounds simple, but its hard to build. Firewall monitors and blocks fishy user behavior and automatically protects against a wide array of attacks. Your primary goal will be to bring "Firewall" to market, actively engaging with prospects, scoping market appetite and roadmap. You are a liaison between the sales and product team, taking ownership of the following responsibilities: 

Sales & Growth:

  • Scope and hunt new customers for Firewall.
  • Act as the point-of-contact for any sales question related to Firewall.
  • Provide customer-tailored demos on most important Firewall features.
  • Train the sales team on new Firewall product features.
  • Create and maintain a technical sales cheat sheet.
  • Create clear, persuasive materials that you and the sales team use to effectively communicate product value and win customers.

Product-market feedback:

  • Relay customer feedback, work closely with the Firewall engineering and product teams to prioritize and execute Firewall roadmap. Translate Firewall capabilities them into sales-ready deliverables.
  • Grasp a deep understanding of Web Application Security (OWASP top 10).
  • Identify new Firewall feature trends in the market.
  • Investigate competitive offerings in the market, and report back to product and engineering.
  • Report and follow up on customer feature requests.
  • Engage with developer communities to build awareness and generate interest.

Collaborate:

  • Take ownership, operate autonomously.
  • Organize, multi-task, and prioritize.
  • Translate Firewall needs into technical, commercial, and product.
