Job Description

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to the Army CIO/G6 on Signal/Cyber issues for your assigned Combatant Command Area of Operation (AOR) and prepare information papers, briefings and other materials at a General Officer/Senior Executive level.
  • Provide staff support to the Army Service Component Commands (ASCCs) within   Geographic Combatant Command regarding operational requirements and ensure the CIO/G-6 leadership has situational awareness of critical issues.
  • Provide C5ISR advice and support to the DA staff and subordinate commands to include providing operational oversight for Army participation in operations in support of Geographic Combatant Commanders in all Theaters of Operation.
  • Provide to leadership a holistic laydown of capabilities and/or requirements in AOR.
  • Participate in workshops, tabletop exercises and SVTC dealing with issues in the AOR.
  • Provide quality C5ISR advice and support to various forums and activities supporting Signal/Cyber operations including but not limited to the 3 Star General Officer Steering Committees, HQDA G-3 Secure VTC (SVTC), the Army Requirements and Resourcing Board (AR2B), LandWarNet Battle Command and Strategic Readiness Updates (SRU).
  • Plan, organize and execute senior military/executive workshops and conferences, record due outs and track completions.  
  • Monitor C4IT readiness of Total Army Signal/Cyber Units and the signal capability assigned to other Army units, which includes acting as the Army CIO/G-6 lead analyst to address funding requirements to include but not limited to Signal/Cyber related Operational Needs Statement (ONS) and Joint Urgent Operational Needs Statements (JUONS) actions submitted by Army units and Combatant Commanders for which the Army has Executive Agency responsibility.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of experience in Signal/Cyber related systems engineering; or a Master’s degree in related field with 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of DoD/Army IT, network (Tactical and enterprise), cybersecurity plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • 1+ years’ experience supporting Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) staff
  • Experience with a Combatant Command (COCOM) Theater  
  • Experience providing cybersecurity, systems engineering, or IT management analysis for DoD systems
  • Military Staff College Graduate preferred
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Possession of briefing high level Military senior leaders (GO/SES)
