A3T has an exciting opportunity for a Secret cleared Software Engineer, Senior (SE) professional.  This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

The successful Software Engineer will be a member of a team that provides data and application support services and a select range of IT services necessary to provide secure enterprise-wide systems sustainment, management, and enhancement, development and integration services for the lifecycle administration, management and deployment functions.

Under general direction, the Software Engineer supports the Human Resources Command (HRC), Cadet Support Programs (CSP & ROTC-G2), which provides comprehensive application and system support for
the U.S. Army Cadet Command.  You will conduct or participate in multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under general direction, designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements software code using Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, and XML for software components of the web applications.
  • Works with graphic designers and other members of a project team to developed the site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website. Responsible for interface implementation.
  • Integrates web applications with backend databases. Deploys large web-based transaction systems using application servers. Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the integration of new products per production and client requirements.
  • Requires strong navigation and site-design instincts.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Clearance: Secret 
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science with five to eight (5-8) years or more experience;
    or Associates of Arts with fifteen (15) years or more experience

         Certifications:

  • Professional certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II or higher

  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II.  CompTia Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01 IAT II
    certification 

  • Must obtain as a related certification relevant to the computing environment, such as Oracle Certified Associate, with the first 90 days of employment

  • Must have Computing Environment certification

  • Experience with RDBMS such as Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar databases

  • Experience using version control tools such as Subversion

  • Experience in software development processes such as SDLC, Scrum, or similar.

  • Experience supporting JVMs in UNIX/Linux/Windows Environments

  • Experience with Java Design patters (MVC, DAO, Singleton, Factory, etc.)
