Job Description

  • Develops plans, performs analysis, maintains systems and recommends enhancements to information security programs, group policies, and security tools such as Host Based Security System (HBSS), Systems Management Server (SMS), Symantec Anti-virus, and user backups.
  • Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs utilizing Retina scanning tools. Updates and maintains IAVA compliance database through Remedy.
  • Receives, investigates, confirms, and documents reports of malicious software attacks, suspicious activities, and penetration incidents, and prepares and submits notifications.
  • Develops and presents briefings materials and training materials.
  • Conducts review and analysis of network threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Utilizes software tools to assist with patch validation, remediation, cleanup, including but not limited to: Retina; REM, Hercules, Gold Disk, SRRs, PSExec, Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) and Dameware.
  • Provides customer service as part of the mitigation process.
  • Writes scripts using Visual Basic and Kix.
  • Performs IAVA reporting through AVTR.
  • Develops documentation to report security violations and incidents. Develops and presents briefing materials and training materials.
  • Individuals filling positions identified as IT Level I or II (IT-I or IT-II) must attend the Systems Administrator (SA)/Network Management (NM) Security (Technical Level II) Course at Ft. Gordon, GA, or at an accredited ―mirror‖ training site within six months of assuming the position. Admission to this training requires satisfactory completion of both the Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) Management Level I and Information Assurance Technical Level I courses.

Qualifications

  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Must understand, speak, read and write the English language
  • Must have current DoD 8570.01–M certification(s)
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
