Job Description

The successful Cyber security Analyst will support the Army's Information Assurance Program and the CIO/G6 Cyber security Directorate's mission to integrate efforts across the Army Staff (ARSTAF) to provide policy, oversight and guidance in promoting and maintaining cyber security for the Army. The successful Candidate shall be responsible for: 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leverage Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, review submitted waiver requests
  • Shall assist the Government lead in executing the DOD Temporary Exception to Policy (TEP) Process.
  • Conduct coordination with Army organizations requesting and DOD CIO to document conditions that substantiate policy deviations
  • Review submissions (documents and processes) for the DOD Temporary Exception to Policy (TEP) process and provide government lead with recommended courses of action
  • Provide assessments on accuracy and completeness of data submitted to the Systems Network Approval Process (SNAP) portal
  • Provide monthly website update report
  • Maintain a repository of all documentation collected during the TEP analysis
  • Communicate proactively with the customer, following escalation processes as required.
  •  Assemble all documentation established by organization guidelines and supporting materials for review to the Government for approval. 
  • Consider recommendations and or directions communicated during the TEP process to correct deficiencies in documentation.

System/Process Knowledge:

  • Connection Approval Process (CAP)
  • DISA Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) system
  • Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Authorization to Connect (ATC) process
  • Army/DoD Temporary Exception to Policy (TEP) Process
  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process
  • Systems Network Approval Process (SNAP)

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Security Clearance: Secret 
  • 8+ years of experience in certification and accreditation in RMF or DIACAP
  • Proficient with RMF process, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253
  • Has customer service experience/skills
  • BS degree, two years of experience can be substituted by completion of a Masters Degree in related field

Qualifications:


  • Expert ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients
  • Demonstrate experience with Army, DOD, or IC specific IT policies, processes and procedures with reference to their area of expertise
  • Demonstrate knowledge of DOD Information Assurance Certification Accreditation Process, DODd 8500.1 and DODI 8500.2
  • Demonstrate experience in a DOD or IT environment, preferably at the Army G6 or HQ Army Staffing.
  • Experience with eMass.
  • Demonstrate experience interacting with and briefing government officials
