Job Description

The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering, maintenance, utilities, and technical operations of MATNA Foods’ manufacturing facilities. The role is responsible for ensuring high equipment reliability, plant availability, operational efficiency, preventive maintenance, engineering projects, and compliance with safety, quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering, maintenance, and utility operations across the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
  • Maximise equipment availability and minimise unplanned production downtime.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Supervise and develop engineering, maintenance, and technical teams.
  • Manage equipment installation, commissioning, upgrades, and engineering projects.
  • Monitor plant utilities, energy consumption, and engineering efficiency.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts, contractors, and technical resources.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with HSE, food safety, GMP, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, and technical documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Provide regular engineering performance reports and recommendations to management.

Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years’ relevant engineering and maintenance experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory engineering role.
  • Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, agro-processing, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of plant engineering, maintenance, and equipment reliability.
  • Practical experience with preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Experience managing engineering projects, contractors, budgets, and technical teams.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical, mechanical, automation, and utility systems.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001 is an advantage.
  • Professional engineering certification or relevant professional membership is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS or maintenance management systems.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
