Job Description
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment used in cassava processing and starch production.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults quickly to minimize production downtime and operational disruptions.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify early signs of wear, misalignment, or failure.
- Support installation, calibration, and commissioning of new and existing mechanical systems.
- Maintain proper lubrication, alignment, and servicing of machines to ensure efficient operation.
- Collaborate with Production teams to ensure machines operate within required performance standards.
- Follow safety procedures and maintenance protocols to prevent accidents and equipment damage.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment documentation.
- Assist in reducing mechanical-related waste, rework, and inefficiencies within the plant.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability and process flow.
Qualifications
- National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ mechanical maintenance experience in FMCG, food processing, agro-processing, or industrial manufacturing.
- Strong hands-on experience with pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, dryers, and processing equipment.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs under minimal supervision.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices in a factory environment.
- Familiarity with safety standards and maintenance procedures in processing plants.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Strong attention to detail, discipline, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in a shift-based industrial environment.
