The Surveyor is responsible for conducting precise land surveys and measurements to support farm expansion, land management, and infrastructure development. This role ensures accurate mapping, boundary demarcation, and layout planning for all agricultural and structural projects on the farm. The ideal candidate should be skilled in modern surveying technology, GIS systems, and possess strong analytical and documentation abilities.

Job Description

  • Conduct topographic, boundary, and layout surveys for farm projects and infrastructure development.
  • Prepare accurate maps, site plans, and spatial data for land use planning and farm operations.
  • Utilize GPS, total station, drones, and other modern survey equipment to collect field data.
  • Analyze and interpret survey data to support construction, irrigation, and land development plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure proper land utilization and layout alignment.
  • Maintain updated land records, maps, and digital survey data archives.
  • Verify land ownership and boundary coordinates to prevent encroachment or disputes.
  • Provide surveying input for feasibility studies, expansion projects, and infrastructure designs.
  • Ensure all surveying work complies with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Train junior staff or field assistants on survey techniques and data collection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying and Geoinformatics, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15–20 years of professional experience in land and topographic surveying, preferably in agriculture or construction.
  • Proficiency in GPS/GNSS equipment, total stations, and AutoCAD or GIS software.
  • Strong understanding of land measurement techniques and Nigerian land regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, technical drawing, and data interpretation skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and spatial awareness.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to apply methods and standards of technical report  writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be physically fit and willing to work in the field for extended periods.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving
  • Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently.
  • Must be registered
