Agbeyewa Farms, a leading player in cassava cultivation and processing, seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Farm Officer to oversee and optimize our farming operations. The Farm Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, ensuring high-quality production, and implementing sustainable agricultural practices to maximize yield and efficiency.

Job Description

  1. Talent Sourcing and Recruitment
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract skilled professionals for various roles, including farm workers, supervisors, agronomists, and administrative staff.
    • Utilize job boards, social media platforms, and professional networks to source qualified candidates.
    • Build a strong pipeline of candidates for current and future talent needs.
  2. Screening and Interviewing
    • Review applications and resumes to identify the best candidates for each role.
    • Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidates’ skills, experience, and cultural fit.
    • Coordinate and participate in interview panels with hiring managers.
  3. Employer Branding
    • Promote Agbeyewa Farms as an employer of choice by showcasing our mission, culture, and career opportunities.
    • Represent the company at career fairs, industry events, and community outreach programs.
  4. Candidate Experience Management
    • Ensure a seamless and positive experience for candidates throughout the recruitment process.
    • Maintain regular communication with candidates and provide timely updates on their application status.
  5. Onboarding and Integration
    • Work closely with HR to facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new hires.
    • Ensure new employees are set up for success by providing necessary resources and orientation.
  6.  Workforce Planning and Strategy
    • Collaborate with department heads to understand talent needs and develop workforce plans.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and labor market dynamics to refine recruitment strategies.
  7. Data and Reporting
    • Track recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate satisfaction.
    • Provide regular reports to management on recruitment activities and outcomes.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in recruitment or talent acquisition (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably in agriculture or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully filling diverse roles, including technical and field positions
  • Strong sourcing and networking skills to identify and engage top talent.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools
  • High level of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for agriculture and a commitment to fostering talent in the industry
