Company Description
AFRY is seeking an experienced Site Manager to manage site construction activities for a Recovery Boiler, Evaporator and Steam Turbine Power Plant project in Prachinburi, Thailand. The Site Manager will be responsible for monitoring and managing the Client’s appointed EPCM and the overall site execution, coordination control of construction and commissioning works, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule and in compliance with contractual requirements, technical specifications and HSE standards.
This role requires overall site leadership, managing multi-disciplinary contractor teams (mechanical, piping, civil, electrical and commissioning interfaces) while coordinating closely with the Client, other contractors and AFRY’s own site inspection team.
Job Description
Act as the overall project site manager for the Client, monitoring the Client’s EPCM Contractor’s progress in design, procurement, fabrication, manufacture, shipping, construction, installation, commissioning and testing against the contract schedule.
Manage and coordinate the EPCM to cover all site construction activities, including mechanical, piping, civil, electrical and auxiliary systems.
Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, project procedures and contractual requirements.
Oversee and coordinate contractors, subcontractors and site supervisors, ensuring proper sequencing and productivity.
Monitor construction progress, schedule adherence and manpower allocation, identifying risks and proposing mitigation actions.
Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations, promoting a strong safety culture on site.
Managing with the assistance of the Client’s and EPCM’s site engineers the site Quality / QC systems, site inspections and testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, plant start-up, Performance Testing through to successful handover.
Lead weekly site coordination and other specific meetings with contractors, QC inspectors and client representatives. The Site Manager shall be responsible for preparation of the meeting Minutes and reporting on any shortcomings or deviations in quality and progress.
Review and approve method statements, work plans, construction and commissioning schedules.
Manage site reporting, including daily progress reports, weekly summaries and issue tracking.
Identify site issues, technical challenges or deviations and coordinate timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
Coordinate all parties for punch-list management, system handover, start-up of the plant and final site close-out activities.
Qualifications
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Power Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in site management roles within thermal power plants, industrial plants or recovery boiler and associated plant projects.
Proven experience in successfully managing multi-disciplinary site construction works and contractors.
Strong background in boiler systems, recovery boiler systems or steam-based power plant systems is highly preferred.
Good understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, contractor management, plant commissioning and start-up.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, layout drawings and construction documents.
Strong leadership, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of HSE requirements and safe work practices.
Excellent English communication skills for managing, reporting and coordination with varied international teams.
