Job Description
About The Role
Afficiency is currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Analyst to collaborate closely with the Product and Development Teams on internal and external product development initiatives. In this role, you will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team to ensure alignment with business requirements. This team member will be incremental in facilitating effective cross-functional communication, understanding both business and technical aspects, and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions that meet business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners/Managers to define requirements for functions or services across products, understanding system architecture.
- Drafting detailed requirements documentation for all aspects of the digital life insurance sales process, including UX journeys, product specifications, point of sale controls, underwriting and forms, working with SMEs and Project Managers.
- Working with a range of project artifacts including BRDs, FRDs, process maps, workflow diagrams, data mapping spreadsheets, etc, to capture all detail necessary for the implementation of client builds.
- Translate requirements into comprehensive Functional Specification Documents.
- Work closely with the Development team to ensure a clear understanding and translation of requirements.
- Deliver a monthly status report to all appropriate parties.
- Assist in the design, documentation, and maintenance of system processes.
Qualifications
Must Have
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Related Work Experience: 2-3 years preferred.
- Proven experience in Business Analysis and Systems development.
- Strong capabilities in project and user-testing management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to plan and manage projects independent and solve complex problems.
- Highly proficient in technical writing.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Please note that this job is only hiring candidates that live in the Metro NYC area and can commute to the office 3 days during the week.

Work Arrangement
Hybrid-work environment must be located in the NYC metro area.
Salary
$90,000-110,000 commensurate with experience
