Job Description
The Field Experience Operations Coordinator is a full-time team member and will focus on coordinating student field experience progress and development. The coordinator will report to the academic program and field education coordinator and work closely with field experience operations and academic coordinators, the field experience directors and faculty, Walden’s Office of Applied Learning Agreements (OALA) student success advising, and field experience site supervisors.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of coordinators and be centrally involved in supporting students in preparing and applying for their field experience across the social work programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist School students in completing and gaining approval for practicum application materials and locating field placement sites as needed across a variety of social work programs.
- Process and maintain student field education files, field education applications, preceptor information and field placement site information.
- Work in partnership with university contract administrators and serve as an initial affiliation agreement liaison between university and outside practicum agencies.
- Assist specialty coordinators and field experience faculty in resolving student problems arising out of the practicum experience.
- Assist in developing and maintaining communications about practicum experience policies and procedures to students, academic advising, program directors, and faculty/specialization coordinators.
- Assist in managing and administering student evaluations to monitor student practicum progress and satisfaction.
- Communicate with students via phone and electronic methods to counsel and advise students across programs on field education information, requirements, policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining field education resources (e.g. manual, website, webinars, etc.) outlining the mission, purpose, and objectives of the field experience as well as a description of all field education policies and procedures. Prepare, complete and maintain reports, files and documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
- Assist in identifying and developing new initiatives to increase student practicum experience satisfaction.
- Work in partnership with field education staff members as a team member to accomplish field education goals.
- Attend meetings and participate in professional development programs as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited university required, preferably in business, education, social work, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience with student support in a university setting is required.
- Experience supporting students in their field training experience preferred.
- Experience working with providing academic counseling and advising preferred.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred.
- Ability to manage high-volume activities with strong attention to detail.
- Commitment to the goals of diversity and social change.
- Ability to work with non-traditional students.
- Ability to assume a leading role in coordinating administrative aspects of the field experience.
- Ability to provide guidance and support in field experience operations.
- Ability to assume a significant role in addressing student questions and concerns about preparing and applying for field experience.
- Ability to participate in residencies, national faculty meetings and other work-related travel.
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $18.70 and $33.84. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
