Opportunity at a Glance

The Academic Program Coordinator for the Forensic Psychology Programs is responsible for providing general support and specialization coordination within the program. The assistant will report to the Academic Associate Dean for the program and work closely with the faculty, academic advising team, event/residency team, the registrar office, and the college leadership and administration team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or maintain mechanisms to communicate Mentor and Doctoral Study policies and procedures to students, academic advising, and college administration.
  • Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures related to Mentoring and Doctoral Study.
  • Where such policies and procedures are lacking, the coordinator will assume initiative in developing proposals for improved policy.
  • Coordinate with the administrative coordinator and staff in the timely communication of faculty mentor assignments to individual faculty and students to meet enrollment deadlines.
  • Assist the program director/associate dean in research relating to program initiatives.
  • Assist the AD in monitoring and coordinating all catalog changes and updates for the Forensic Psychology program.
  • Assist in ensuring all Forensic Psychology program changes are properly and timely communicated to all stakeholders by assisting with the timely distribution of communication documents.
  • Assist the AD in the dissemination of proactive communications for faculty and learners.
  • Assist the AD as needed in support of Forensic Psychology initiatives.
  • Gather data for the Associate Dean that will be used to monitor attrition levels to understand causes.
  • Assist the Program Director/Associate Dean in preparing and transmitting by email, when indicated, their formal responses to students, using established approaches and templates, allowing for the Director's personalized response to the student.
  • Coordinate with academic advising to support satisfactory student experience, including, as approved by the Associate Dean, outreach directly to students who have academic, or process questions or matters of academic concern.
  • Assist the Associate Dean in maintaining the data for faculty with respect to the institution's official faculty database.
  • This will include follow-ups with faculty to ensure the data is entered and up to date. Assist the AD in tracking faculty student loads to comply with program goals.
  • Assist the Associate Dean in coordinating course assignments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • PhD is required in Forensic Psychology or a similar discipline.
  • Experience in online distance-learning environment a must. 
  • Experience working with students in an educational environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating a Windows-based platform especially Excel and learn the institution's administrative database.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to set and meet deadlines.
  • Creative, innovative, strategic, and able to work independently.
  • Able to anticipate future trends and problems and plan for them accordingly.
  • Ability to travel as business needs require.

 

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $115,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
