Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance

This position will be responsible for ensuring IT infrastructure and operations delivered through AWS and GCP are designed and operated in a highly effective, efficient and secure fashion. This includes project delivery, responding to incidents and problems, monitoring, testing and troubleshooting, and planning for growth.
 
This role requires a mix of broad business and technical acumen with strong project delivery skills, the ability to inspire and influence decisions around security risk management, and a polished ability to communicate with key internal stakeholders.

This is a full-time hybrid role located in any of the following offices: Chicago, IL, Miramar, Florida or Columbia, MD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy dynamically scalable, highly reliable and fault-tolerant applications on AWS and GCP
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Select appropriate AWS or GCP services to design an application based on the business requirements
- Propose optimizations to automate and improve infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Prepare appropriate documentation such as program code, and technical documents
- Assist the project manager/technical lead in preparing estimates and justification for assigned tasks
- Coordinate with business analysts/QA team to troubleshoot and debug issues, initiate testing, and ensure testing is completed successfully
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.

Qualifications

- Enterprise experience administering Windows Server (2016 and above) environments in AWS and GCP
- Experience with infrastructure automation (PowerShell or Python)

- Working experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Strong experience with core infrastructure services and tools
- Knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, and Satellite administration
- Knowledge of cloud reference architectures and AWS\GCP best practices
- Experience with EC2 and Compute Engine features for provisioning, monitoring, scaling and distribution of compute and network infrastructure
- Experience working with AWS or GCP databases and object storage
- Experience with Git as a source code control provider
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Experience working in Scrum or Kanban and tools such as JIRA for workflow management
- 3+ years’ experience in an AWS or GCP Engineering role supporting IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services
- 5+ years’ experience working with enterprise-level Microsoft Window

- Experience with developing reporting that is meaningful and actionable for a variety of audiences including peers, internal stakeholders, management, and external third parties
- Experience developing and managing processes and procedures while continuously seeking to make relevant and practical improvements to each
- Experience in solving intricate problems and conducting complex analyses

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $71907.71 and $130001.91. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
