Senior Training Consultant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Training Consultant to lead the design, delivery and management of high quality marine oil spill response and inland spill awareness training across the UK.

This senior, client facing role requires strong spill response expertise, excellent presentation skills and the confidence to train a wide range of audiences, from operational teams to Harbour Masters and CEOs.
You will oversee the full training cycle design, planning, administration, delivery, evaluation and accreditation, while ensuring an outstanding client experience and full compliance with accreditation standards.
The role also supports incident management exercises, contingency planning and post exercise reporting. This is a home based position with regular nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays, with non travel days spent working from your nearest depot.


What you'll be doing…

  • Deliver engaging, accredited marine and inland spill response training, including practical demonstrations and scenario‑based learning.

  • Design and update course materials, assessments and Quality Management documentation to meet NI and ISAS standards.

  • Manage the full training cycle: quotations, scheduling, bookings, logistics, certificates and invoicing.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, tailoring programmes and identifying opportunities for additional services or consultancy.

  • Support incident management exercises, from planning through to delivery and post‑exercise reporting.

  • Ensure safe training environments by completing RAMS and upholding all health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

What we need from you …

  • An experienced spill response professional with strong marine and/or inland response knowledge.

  • A confident trainer with experience delivering accredited MCA OPRC or IMO‑equivalent courses.

  • Someone who can present effectively to mixed groups, including senior leaders.

  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple training programmes and administrative tasks.

  • A strong communicator who builds trust with clients and represents the organisation professionally.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital training tools, with a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
