Job Description

Adjective & Co. is hiring an Account Director. As a seasoned leader, you’ve been told you are "irreplaceable" on several occasions in your advertising career. You eat and breathe client service and quality control. You understand your clients, their business, timelines, brand strategy, can write a stellar creative brief, present like a pro, and above all are fun and respect the craft of great creative work. You understand various consulting processes, approaches and capabilities, and are able to recommend appropriate tactics to clients and implement projects. Most importantly, you’re a leader to internal and external teams who can motivate people to deliver successful campaigns and programs. As an AD, you bring a professional and structured approach to business and client services that reflects the culture, service, and capabilities of our team, championing best-in-class work on behalf of the agency. 

You will work across strategic, conceptual and executional projects that elevate the client’s brand and solve complex business challenges. You’ll be responsible for working with clients to collect business objectives, set and manage expectations, connect projects in with the larger ecosystem of the brand’s marketing initiatives, and ensure the work and team are tracking toward the same vision.

The Day-to-day Expectations:

  • Foster relationships with clients and multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide strategic direction for clients
  • Lead internal and client teams
  • Define and implement best practices at the business unit level
  • Supervise and manage projects
  • Serve as the daily client contact across multiple accounts
  • Play a major role in the development of brand strategy, research, planning, marketing, and managing advertising campaigns
  • Work closely with the leadership/creative team, manage accounts, develop plans, run meetings, and solve problems
  • Ensure the timely development and execution of plans, campaigns, and projects to assure timelines and goals are achieved
  • Plan, develop, and adhere to the proposal and budget recommendations, work goals, measurements, and requirements necessary to provide both quality and profitable service to clients
  • Establish a comprehensive understanding of your clients’ businesses and their missions
  • Present directly to clients in meetings, new business pitches, client presentations, and conference calls

Qualifications

  • A proven leader with 6-8 years of relevant agency experience required 
  • Extremely personable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized (OCD-ness is welcome) with extreme attention to detail
  • Excellent at negotiating
  • Mac and social media-savvy
  • Passionate about branding, advertising, marketing, and high-quality creative
  • Highly skilled at formulating and driving long-term strategic account plans, strategies, and roadmaps
  • Excellent at presenting to clients, as well internal and external teams
  • Experienced in working with large, retainer-based clients
  • Skilled at working with complex projects and with complex clients
  • Able to delegate tactical assignments, manage a small team, and deliver projects on-time and on-budget
  • Experienced in working with and leading cross-agency teams
  • Comfortable with data and analytics, building business cases to help sell creative work and show the value of the work back to the client’s business
  • Serious about your work, but you never take yourself too seriously
