Creative Director (Art Direction)
- Full-time
Company Description
Adjective & Co. is an award-winning branding and full-service branding and advertising agency headquartered in Jacksonville Beach, Florida with satellite offices in New York, Atlanta and Palm Beach. We specialize in brand strategy, branding and design, advertising, social media, and web design/development. We only work with people who don’t suck—that goes for clients AND team members.
Deep down we believe in doing more with less, getting scrappy when needed, and outthinking vs. outspending the competition. Notable un-sucky clients include Gatorade, Insomnia Cookies, Whalebone Magazine, New York Islanders, THE PLAYERS, and many others. We give our team lots of freedom, but it comes with lots of responsibility—and the occasional adult beverage or three.

Job Description
Adjective & Co. is looking for an experienced, top-notch Creative Director who will continue to push our clients’ brands to the next level. A creative genius with a background in art direction & design that’s a self-starting, ideating, design-making freak of creativity—a creative assassin, if you will—bringing big ideas to life with a trained eye, detail-focused communication and management skills, and a deep knowledge of advertising. Someone who’s been around the block a time or twelve, has been to a few rodeos, and survived a few crash landings. You’ve got all your creative badges sewn on and sashed to prove it: from branding, logo design, traditional/non-traditional advertising, digital, social, print, experiential, and even a sprinkling of illustration & animation dust for good measure.
The Day-to-day Expectations:
- Creative, visual excellence. Design and deliver amazing visual work in whatever format deemed necessary to transform client dreams into reality.
- A natural born leader.
- Big thinking and concepting of scalable, extremely creative, unexpected and results-driving ideas
- Branding machine. Brand strategy, brand identity and brand activations in every way, shape and form.
- Present work like you invented presentations. Being able to run the presentation gamut on a project from internal brief to client approval (we’re talking Keynote to Post-Its and everything in between).
- Never settling for average. Develop and strive towards creating results-driven campaigns from concept to production.
- Take initiative and do your own tricks. Dive in on projects to over-deliver new and innovative solutions others might not see.
- Assist in managing junior creatives. Work as a team alongside non-creatives to best support larger project and client goals.
- Wrangle the details. Be an ambitious creative worker that can handle a calendar, responds to emails on time and knows a thing or two about deadlines and proofing—we know you’re out there.
- Deliver the goods. Work with vendors and other agency partners to see the work through and set it free.
- Just kick ass. Anything and everything that is deemed creativity and a never-ending desire to advance your craft and learn. Do the damn thing.
Qualifications
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in creative execution and management —agency preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field / advertising portfolio school.
- A Mac person (no PC-users allowed)
- A killer designer and craftsman of the trade
- Proven ability to manage yourself and junior creatives on large projects, execute against creative briefs and manage all production needs for a project.
- You have a solid working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite—Ps, Ai, Id, and even some Ae. Bonus points for Xd, Pr and Dw.
- Extensive experience with presentation software (Keynote mainly) and comfortable presenting to both internal teams and directly to clients and agency partners.
- You can demonstrate that you are self-organized, self-driven, and have a strong attention to detail.
- You have a solid, diverse portfolio displaying your abilities, skills, and experience.
- Local/on-site preferred but open to remote candidates.
