Job Description

This is a contract/freelance position.

The Digital Content Creator is responsible for writing and developing meaningful and persuasive optimized content (original and user-generated) for use across digital outlets including but not limited to social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.), web pages, email newsletters, blog posts, and more. This candidate must be able to write copy independently as well as:

  • Lead efforts in the planning, development and implementation of brand voice, social media strategies, editorial calendars and concept ideation.

  • Collaborate with agency departments to develop and execute broader digital engagement strategy for key clients, research prospects and develop proposals for digital products/social media clients

  • Develop relationships/digital dialogue with online influencers (e.g., bloggers, media, experts, celebs, etc.), and manage online media buys on clients’ behalf; as necessary, bring in partners to support

  • Manage all day-to-day social media efforts/write and design posts for (Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram)

  • Prepare well-structured drafts using digital publishing platforms

  • Edit and proofread written pieces before publication

  • Present your copy and ideas in group settings

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Content Creator, Copywriter or similar role
  • Minimum of 4+ years of digital or social marketing experience for a major brand or agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in (English, Journalism, Copywriting preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to fact check long-form content pieces
  • Ability to adapt your writing style to our brand tone and voice
  • Proven ability to create and execute comprehensive social media campaigns and strategy that engage and excite fans, while delivering results for our clients.
  • A strong working knowledge of the digital marketing landscape, including social platforms, influencer marketing, paid media, and emerging technologies, as well as how digital fits into an overall brand marketing strategy
  • Self-motivated with ability to work individually or as a team
  • Understanding of photography principles, and have a good visual aesthetic (aka good taste)
  • Experience utilizing consumer insights, third-party research, analytics and competitive analysis to develop strategic social campaigns, including familiarity with SEO is a bonus
  • Working knowledge of social media measurement tools, social CMS, and web analytics such as Omniture, Google Analytics, etc, software such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Docs, and hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
  • A track record of leadership in a multi-disciplinary team, including creative and technology peers
  • Ability to manage projects and meet timelines, while working in a fast-paced environment and managing a portfolio of clients or projects
  • Strong presentation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills (including editing and proofreading), highly organized, excellent listener
