Job Description

Operate and improve a hybrid infrastructure estate and modern incident response. Focus on high-signal monitoring, event correlation, and safe automation using PRTG, PagerDuty, Jira/Jira Service Management, and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Run and troubleshoot production systems across WindowsUbuntuHyper‑VAWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Build and tune PRTG monitoring (sensors, thresholds, dependencies, maintenance windows) to reduce alert noise.
  • Own PagerDuty on-call setup (services, routing, escalation, severity) and integrate with Jira/JSM.
  • Automate incident workflows: ticket creation, enrichment (context/runbooks/diagnostics), routing, and guardrailed remediation.
  • Create/run runbooks for common recoveries (Windows services, Linux daemons, Hyper‑V issues, Kubernetes node/workload health).
  • Lead incidents and post-incident reviews; drive corrective actions to completion.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in Systems/SRE/Platform Ops (production).
  • Strong Windows Server + PowerShell and Ubuntu + Bash troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on Hyper‑V administration (hosts/clusters, capacity, patching).
  • Experience with PRTGPagerDuty, and Jira/JSM incident processes/automation.
  • Comfortable building API/webhook integrations; Git-based workflow (Python a plus).
  • Working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes operations.
  • EKS administration and Kubernetes upgrades/add-ons (CoreDNS/CNI/CSI); Helm.
  • AWS IaC/automation (Terraform/CloudFormation) and/or AWS Systems Manager runbooks.
  • Teams ChatOps automation (webhooks/bots) and strong RCA/postmortem facilitation.
