Job Description

Acumatica is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead our ERP products designed for Distribution, Retail, and Manufacturing industries. As the Senior Director of Product Management, you will lead our product team, strategic direction, delivery and management of multiple products. Your role will focus on driving growth and profitability of existing products, as well as developing new products and packaged solutions, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring our solutions meet the market needs while aligning with our company’s goals.

This position reports directly to the Chief Product Officer. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Portfolio Management: 

  • Lead and expand the product management team, providing mentorship and development to achieve high performance and career growth. 
  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for our product verticals ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and market demand. 
  • Develop business cases for new vertical solutions, presenting essential information for executive decision-making. 
  • Present progress reports to executives, senior leadership and stakeholders regularly. 
  • Drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the product management team. 
  • Manage product packaging and go to market strategies covering the entire lifecycle of specific product lines. 
  • Organize customer references, referral programs, and retention strategies. 
  • Represent the company at events and seminars, contributing to resource planning debates on build versus buy decisions. 
  • Own end-to-end responsibility for the success of assigned product lines. 

Market Analysis: 

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis, including research, technology assessment, and competitive landscape analysis. 
  • Provide quantitative analysis on market size, product performance, and operational metrics. 
  • Engage with existing customers and partners to gather requirements and insights. 
  • Document and articulate market requirements effectively. 

Product Planning and Launch Readiness: 

  • Communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale to stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with development teams on functional design documents and project schedules. 
  • Oversee new product release activities, ensuring coordination across the organization. 
  • Manage beta customer identification and the beta and managed availability release processes. 
  • Provide feedback and guidance on documentation and training materials to Education teams. 
  • Ensure that product quality meets customer and market expectations by reviewing outputs from the Quality Assurance group. 
  • Develop and manage sales tools such as pricing calculators, collateral, video demos, battle cards, and more.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience in product management or product delivery within business applications in the ERP domain for Distribution, Retail, and Manufacturing. 
  • In-depth domain expertise and business software innerworkings of software solutions including ERP and point solutions used by small and medium sized businesses in B2B and B2C online commerce, distribution, retail, and manufacturing. 
  • 5+ years in a management role, demonstrating a blend of business acumen and technical expertise. 
  • Proactive in understanding customer interactions with products and innovating solutions for broader market needs. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong decision-making and time-management skills. 
  • Experience in a large company environment, with a desire to apply that knowledge to a smaller, agile team. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a self-driven approach to achieving realistic goals.

For this role, the salary range is $180,000-$235,000 annually. This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job and may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant elements.
At Acumatica, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
