Job Description

The primary function of the Professional Services Engineer is to implement the Actifio solutions. As a PSE you will work closely with customers to provide creative solutions, and develop successful implementations. To be successful you will have a strong technical background, critical thinker, and a passion for problem solving. You will have a driven work ethic and have good communications skills and a track record for providing high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities/Key Task

  • Leading the planning, installation an integration of Actifio solutions in physical, virtual or hybrid IT environments (VMware, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, AIX, Solaris, Linux, VMS, Microsoft’s Hyper-V and other cloud gateways).
  • Work with customers from the point of planning the installation (Purchase Order (PO) with customers from the point of planning the installation (Purchase Order (PO), Conditional PO, and Proof of Concept (POC)) through to steady state.
  • Deliver advanced professional services (product customization and integration, including upgrades, troubleshooting and other related profession engineering services) in the customer environment. 
  • Ensure the knowledge transfer on all aspects of the product to Actifio Partners.
  • Work closely with members of Support and Engineering team to quickly resolve any client issues and constantly drive customer satisfaction post-sales.

Qualifications

Requirements/Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Information Systems or closely related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience)
  • 5 years of Professional Services Engineer or Software Engineer experience providing pre-and post-sales customer support in SAN deployment planning/consultation, implementation and integration
  • Experience must reflect in depth knowledge and work with the following:
    • SAN architecture and implementation (Fibre-channel and/or iSCSI);
    • Server virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V and/or Citrix Xen);
    • Mass storage subsystems and their application;
    • Networking (including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, design and implementation);
    • Oracle and SQL backup experience
    • UNIX/Linux administration
    • Scripting experience such as Bash, Perl, Javascript, Powershell or Python
    • Experience of the software development lifecycle
    • File systems (NAS) and their internals; and
    • Replications and disaster recovery
  • Will be required to travel 25-50% to customer sites. May be required to travel to client sites in other cities nationwide for short durations as needed.
