Job Description
The Director of Financial Operations & Systems will play a crucial role in optimizing financial operations & systems within a fast-growing, e-commerce company with over 20 brands and operating across 15 countries and 20 sales channels.
The role owns and drives the operationalization of Finance transformation, with a focus on ERP implementation (Netsuite) and core finance systems & process design and enablement. The individual will collaborate cross functionally, acting as a bridge between operations and finance, ensuring a two-way flow of information, while streamlining processes. This role requires a strong understanding of how supply chain management affects an organization’s financial performance.
Responsibilities:
NetSuite Interaction / Planning:
Lead a holistic review of brand operations, supply chain and finance processes, policies, controls, and requirements within NetSuite.
Identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations to optimize NetSuite configuration and utilization.
Streamline manual processes, enhance inventory accuracy, and reduce excess inventory through targeted initiatives.
Customize NetSuite workflows, forms, and reports to align with supply chain and finance processes and requirements.
Process Optimization:
Lead new and existing core finance process enablement through requirements gathering, process design, and automation working with all Finance & Accounting teams, and cross-functional teams (Brand Operations and Supply Chain teams).
Launch new financial processes to support expansion into omnichannel and international markets.
Identify and streamline manual processes within supply chain & inventory operations, leveraging automation and technology solutions.
Develop high-level workflows and detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance across Finance & Accounting
Financial Management of Inventory Operations:
Lead financial analysis of inventory management practices, including inventory turnover, storage costs, and obsolescence.
Collaborate closely with supply chain teams to optimize working capital and cash flow within inventory operations.
Develop and implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and improve inventory accuracy.
Supply Chain Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Oversee month-end close processes for inventory-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and KPIs specific to inventory operations.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize inventory performance and improve financial outcomes.
Supply Chain Strategic Planning and Budgeting:
Support the development of annual and quarterly budgets for inventory operations, aligning financial goals with strategic objectives.
Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets, identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
Provide financial guidance for inventory-related capital investments and strategic initiatives, including audit.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify financial risks within inventory operations and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures related to inventory accounting and reporting.
Monitor market trends and external factors that may impact inventory valuation and financial performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
7+ years of experience in financial operations, supply chain management, or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or ecommerce company.
Experience working in Finance transformation, including core finance processes, internal controls and financial systems
Deep understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management techniques, and financial analysis methodologies.
Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and ERP systems (NetSuite).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Strategic mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Information
Compensation will be $150,000 - $175,000 USD, depending on experience
