Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Night Manager to join our hospitality team in Baghdad, Iraq. Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our hotel during the night shift. As the senior leader on duty overnight, you'll supervise our Night Auditor, manage guest relations, and lead a collaborative Front Office team that is passionate about delivering exceptional guest service. This is a full-time position working overnight shifts, generally from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Oversee all nightly hotel operations, ensuring all departments function effectively and efficiently
- Manage guest relations and resolve any questions, concerns, or issues that arise during the night shift with empathy and professionalism
- Deliver exceptional service through efficient check-ins, check-outs, and meaningful guest interactions
- Supervise and support the Night Auditor, ensuring all nightly processes are completed accurately and transparently
- Conduct and review night audit procedures, verifying that all financial transactions and reports are correct and compliant
- Lead and develop the overnight team, fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional working environment
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain the safety and security of guests, team members, and hotel assets
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure guest needs are met, including coordinating special requests and in-room services
- Respond effectively and decisively to emergency situations, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security concerns
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, brand standards, and local regulations specific to Baghdad operations
- Prepare detailed handover reports and communicate operational matters transparently to the Rooms Division Manager and day teams
- Implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction during night operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel Front Office environment, with a proven track record in overnight operations management
- Experience as a Night Manager, Assistant Manager, or a highly capable Night Auditor ready to advance in your career
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- A genuine passion for guest service and creating positive, memorable guest experiences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues alike
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and analytical approach to challenges
- Proficiency with hotel management systems such as Opera and basic accounting skills related to night audit functions
- The ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate resilience in demanding situations
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays (generally 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Knowledge of security and safety protocols, with the ability to respond effectively to emergency situations
- Crisis management and emergency response capabilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Adaptability to working in an international environment with cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Current First Aid certification and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, or willingness to obtain
- Full working rights in Iraq and the ability to work full-time hours
- Familiarity with local regulations and operational requirements specific to Baghdad hospitality operations is advantageous
