Job Description

  • Review event orders (BEOs) and plan the AV set-up, equipment and timing with the Events team
  • Install, test and operate sound systems, microphones, projectors, LED screens, video walls, stage lighting and video conferencing
  • Attend pre-event briefings, rehearsals and sound checks; stay on stand-by during events to resolve issues immediately
  • Operate audio mixers, lighting consoles and presentation switchers during live events
  • Support hybrid and virtual meetings: streaming, cameras, laptops, clicker and connection issues for presenters
  • Maintain background music, paging and AV systems in restaurants, bars, pool, beach, spa and public areas
  • Dismantle, check, clean and correctly store all equipment after each event
  • Run preventive maintenance on AV equipment and keep an up-to-date inventory, reporting losses or damage
  • Coordinate with external AV suppliers and contractors and supervise their work on property
  • Advise clients and the Events team on suitable technical solutions and support upselling of AV packages
  • Log all work orders and incidents in the maintenance system
  • Follow electrical safety, cable management, working-at-height and Accor Health & Safety standards
  • Keep up to date with new AV technology and propose improvements to equipment and processes

Qualifications

  • Diploma or technical certificate in electronics, audio-visual, sound engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years' AV experience in a 5-star hotel, convention venue or event production company
  • Hands-on knowledge of digital mixers, wireless microphones, projection, LED screens, lighting and video conferencing platforms
  • Good understanding of signal flow, networking basics and AV control systems (e.g. Crestron, Extron) an advantage
  • Good spoken and written English; Arabic or French an advantage
  • Valid UAE driving licence an advantage
