Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Guest Service Associate for our Food & Beverage team in Mumbai, India. In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our guests' dining experience, delivering exceptional service that exceeds expectations while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and warmth. You will work collaboratively with our F&B and front office teams to ensure seamless operations and create memorable moments for every guest who walks through our doors.

  • Welcome and greet guests with genuine warmth and professionalism, setting a positive tone for their dining experience
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, resolving issues in a timely manner to ensure satisfaction
  • Demonstrate comprehensive menu knowledge and provide personalized recommendations, highlighting specials and promoting hotel facilities to maximize sales opportunities
  • Execute flawless table service, including setup, clearing of soiled items, and resetting tables between guest arrivals
  • Take accurate guest orders and maintain precise control of guest and hotel accounts, ensuring all charges are posted correctly and promptly
  • Coordinate seamlessly with kitchen, housekeeping, and front office departments to maintain operational efficiency and exceptional service standards
  • Inspect and prepare all operating equipment, linens, and condiments before service to ensure readiness and quality
  • Handle guest luggage and belongings with courtesy and care, managing room inventory according to individual guest needs
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of property layout, fire exits, and emergency procedures to ensure guest safety and security
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, identifying cost-effective resource utilization and minimizing breakage, pilferage, and spoilage
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, suspicious activities, or emergency situations to management immediately
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to support other departments and take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Comply with all occupational health and safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues

Qualifications

**Required Skills & Competencies:**

  • Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for exceeding guest expectations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact professionally with diverse guests and team members
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service standards, dining etiquette, and table service techniques
  • Proficiency with point of sale (POS) systems and hotel management software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Problem-solving abilities and composure when handling challenging situations or guest complaints
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform service duties for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Sales and upselling capabilities with sound product knowledge

**Preferred Experience:**

  • Previous experience in guest service, F&B service, or hospitality industry roles
  • Experience working in a hotel, restaurant, or upscale dining establishment
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Experience handling guest complaints and resolving conflicts professionally

**Education & Certifications:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hospitality or food service training or certification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation protocols in food service environments

**Domain Expertise:**

  • Hospitality industry standards and best practices
  • Understanding of food and beverage operations and service procedures
  • Familiarity with Indian hospitality customs and multilingual capabilities (beneficial for Mumbai location)
