Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented **Purchasing Manager** to join our organization in Baghdad, Iraq. In this pivotal role, you will lead our purchasing operations, driving efficiency, cost optimization, and strategic vendor partnerships. As a decisive and analytical professional, you will oversee all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.   • Manage and oversee all purchasing and procurement operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective acquisition of goods and services across the organization
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize pricing, quality, and vendor performance while maintaining budget compliance
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors, leveraging market knowledge to secure competitive rates and favorable terms
  • Review purchase orders, bid proposals, and vendor quotations to ensure accuracy, compliance with policies, and alignment with organizational requirements
  • Monitor vendor performance across quality, service delivery, and pricing metrics; maintain transparent communication and collaborative relationships with all suppliers
  • Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs, establish product specifications, and ensure consistent inventory levels
  • Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of purchasing procedures, governmental regulations, and compliance requirements applicable in Baghdad, Iraq
  • Research and evaluate new products, services, and suppliers to support organizational innovation and operational excellence
  • Assist with capital expenditure planning and budget forecasting for procurement activities
  • Support the organization in implementing sustainable and ethical purchasing practices
  • Interact professionally and collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, contractors, and external stakeholders

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Proven management experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Solid knowledge of purchasing procedures, procurement best practices, and vendor management
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computer systems and procurement software; strong technical aptitude
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with flexibility and efficiency
  • Budget management and cost control expertise with a track record of achieving financial targets
  • Knowledge of procurement compliance and regulations relevant to operations in Iraq

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Previous experience in a similar purchasing manager role within a corporate or organizational setting
  • Familiarity with contract negotiation and vendor relationship management
  • Experience with inventory management and supply chain optimization
  • Knowledge of sustainable and ethical sourcing practices
  • Experience working in international or multicultural business environments
