Job Description
- Carry out painting and decorative works in guest rooms, villas, public areas, restaurants, corridors, offices, back-of-house areas, and external areas.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks/holes, removing old paint, and applying appropriate primers.
- Apply emulsion, enamel, textured, epoxy, waterproof, and other approved paint finishes as required.
- Ensure all painting works meet the property's five-star quality and presentation standards.
- Perform touch-up and corrective painting works promptly in guest and operational areas.
- Match existing colours, textures, and finishes accurately when carrying out maintenance works.
- Protect furniture, flooring, fixtures, fittings, and other surfaces from paint splashes and damage.
- Maintain proper cleanliness and housekeeping of the work area during and after completion.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as peeling, cracks, uneven coverage, stains, or colour mismatch and rectify accordingly.
- Assist with painting and refurbishment projects during room renovations, public-area upgrades, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Follow daily work schedules, maintenance requests, and work orders assigned by the Engineering team.
- Maintain and properly use painting tools, equipment, ladders, and materials.
- Ensure paint, chemicals, and other materials are stored safely and used according to manufacturer instructions.
- Follow all HSE, fire safety, chemical handling, PPE, and resort safety procedures.
- Coordinate with other Engineering trades to ensure work is completed efficiently and with minimum disruption to guests.
- Report any major surface defects, water leakage, dampness, mould, or structural issues identified during painting works to the supervisor.
- Support emergency and urgent maintenance requirements when required.
- Maintain professional appearance and behaviour when working in guest-facing areas.
- Respect guest privacy and ensure minimum disturbance to guests while carrying out maintenance activities.
- Participate in preventive maintenance programs and resort improvement projects.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Engineering management.
Qualifications
- High school education or relevant vocational/trade qualification preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience as a Painter, preferably within a five-star hotel, luxury resort, or similar hospitality environment.
- Experience in hotel/resort maintenance and refurbishment projects is an advantage.
- Knowledge of UAE HSE requirements and safe handling of paints and chemicals is preferred.
