Job Description
We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Southampton as our new People & Culture Manager. The People & Culture Manager reports to the Assistant Director, People & Culture and is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of the hotel's People & Culture programs, policies, and colleague initiatives. This role supports talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, engagement, training, compliance, and workforce planning while fostering a positive colleague experience aligned with Fairmont and Accor values. The People & Culture Manager partners closely with department leaders to attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
Key Responsbilities
Employee Relations & Colleague Experience
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and colleagues on People & Culture policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
- Support the resolution of employee relations issues through coaching, guidance, investigation, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct workplace investigations and maintain appropriate documentation and records.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that reflects Fairmont and Accor values.
- Support colleague recognition, engagement, wellness, and retention initiatives.
- Assist with the administration of disciplinary processes and performance improvement plans.
Talent & Acquisition & Onboarding
- Support recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate selection.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce planning requirements.
- Ensure successful onboarding and orientation experiences for all new colleagues.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and support initiatives to attract top talent.
- Maintain recruitment records and ensure compliance with hiring procedures.
Performance Management & Talent Development
- Support the administration of annual performance review processes.
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management practices.
- Assist in identifying learning and development opportunities across the organization.
- Coordinate leadership development, succession planning, and talent review initiatives.
- Support training programs that enhance colleague and management capabilities.
Policy Administration & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, labour regulations, company policies, and collective agreements where applicable.
- Maintain accurate employee records and People & Culture documentation.
- Support audits, regulatory reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives.
- Assist with policy development, communication, and implementation.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee and organizational information.
Audit & Year-End Administration
- Prepare payroll documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Coordinate responses to payroll audit inquiries and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Ensure year-end payroll reporting requirements are completed accurately and within regulatory deadlines.
- Maintain accurate employee earnings, deductions, and tax records.
- Support annual financial statement audits and compliance reviews.
Workforce Planning & HR Administration
- Monitor staffing levels and support workforce planning initiatives.
- Maintain HRIS records and employee files.
- Produce reports and metrics related to recruitment, turnover, absenteeism, engagement, and other workforce indicators.
- Support organizational change initiatives and restructuring processes as required.
- Assist with leave administration and employee status changes.
Leadership & Department Support
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to People & Culture Coordinators and Administrators.
- Participate in departmental planning and execution of strategic objectives.
- Support departmental budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist the Assistant Director, People & Culture with special projects and organizational initiatives.
- Promote continuous improvement in People & Culture processes and services.
Cross-Department Collaboration
- Build effective working relationships with department leaders and colleagues.
- Partner with operational teams to support business goals and workforce needs.
- Provide People & Culture guidance during new initiatives, projects, and operational changes.
- Support colleague communications and engagement activities across the resort.
- Champion Fairmont's culture, values, and service excellence standards.
Qualifications

Experience
- 4-6 years of progressive Human Resources or People & Culture experience.
- Experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and policy administration.
- Hospitality, luxury resort, tourism, or service industry experience preferred.
- Experience supporting leaders and employees in a fast-paced operational environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Professional HR designation (CPHR, SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) preferred.
