Job Description

As Handyperson, your primary focus will be identifying, rectifying, and following up on building defects and minor maintenance issues across guest rooms and public areas. This role is ideal for someone practical, detail-oriented, and experienced in post-construction or recently opened building environments.

You will work closely with all departments across the hotel and external contractors to ensure the property remains safe, functional, and presented to brand standards.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Be actively involved in daily operational tasks, including conducting repairs, troubleshooting issues, and providing hands-on assistance to the engineering team as needed, ensuring efficient resolution of maintenance requests.
  • Oversee the final stages of hotel construction from an operational perspective, conducting thorough inspections, testing all systems, and ensuring compliance with all safety and brand standards.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment.
  • Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialised repairs, maintenance, and projects, ensuring work is completed to specifications, on time, and within budget.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all local regulations, health and safety standards, environmental policies, and Accor brand standards.

Qualifications

About You

  • Minimum 12 months demonstrated experience in general building maintenance.
  • Previous experience working in hotel / resort / hospitality settings is preferred.
  • Qualifications in a Trade is preferred.
  • Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team. 
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster (including nights), weekends and public holidays.
