Novotel Rotorua Lakeside is a 4-star hotel featuring 199 guest rooms, along with Clarkes Bar and Atlas Restaurant. Our food and beverage outlets offer a popular buffet breakfast and an à la carte dinner service, catering for up to 140 guests in a vibrant lakeside setting.
Ibis Rotorua Lakeside is a 3-star hotel with 145 recently refurbished guest rooms, providing modern comfort and exceptional value for our guests. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast service and a convenient Grab & Go menu, catering to both leisure and business travellers.

Job Description
As a Food & Beverage Attendant, you will have the opportunity to create memorable dining experiences for our guests and make every visit truly special.
Working alongside our Food & Beverage team, you will help deliver exceptional service across breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar, and event operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Greeting guests warmly and professionally as they arrive
- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently
- Delivering food and drinks to tables in a timely manner
- Clearing tables, resetting and maintaining a clean dining area
- Handling guest queries, requests, and complaints with care
- Processing payments using POS systems and handling cash/card transactions
- Restocking supplies and ensuring stations are stocked and tidy
- Following hygiene, safety, and food handling procedures at all times
- Supporting colleagues and working collaboratively as part of a team
- Setting up and packing down service areas as required
- Communicating any dietary needs or guest concerns to kitchen team
- Completing daily cleaning and closing checklists
Qualifications
Whilst talent and attitude are our primary requirements, you will also bring:
- A genuine passion for quality, presentation, and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage positively with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- A strong command of both written and spoken English.
- The physical ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and safely lift or carry light trays and equipment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, is preferred, but not essential.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A friendly, professional attitude and a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
- A positive, proactive, and can-do approach to work.
- Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills.
- An understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster across seven days, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
- New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency.
