Job Description

  • Provide warm, professional, and personalized service to guests throughout the overnight shift. 
  • Complete the nightly audit accurately and in accordance with Fairmont standards and established procedures. 
  • Reconcile daily hotel transactions, including room charges, payments, adjustments, and departmental revenues. 
  • Verify and balance Front Office, Food & Beverage, and other hotel revenue transactions. 
  • Review and reconcile guest and house accounts, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly. 
  • Process and post room charges, payments, adjustments, and other financial transactions accurately. 
  • Verify cash drawers and complete required cash-handling and banking procedures. 
  • Prepare and distribute daily financial and operational reports as required. 
  • Review and investigate discrepancies identified during the nightly audit and communicate unresolved issues to appropriate leadership. 
  • Ensure all transactions are properly documented and supported. 
  • Monitor and maintain accurate guest account information. 
  • Process overnight arrivals, departures, room changes, and guest requests as required. 
  • Assist guests with check-in, check-out, billing inquiries, and other Front Office needs. 
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns and assist with service recovery. 
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of hotel amenities, restaurants, outlets, events, services, and local attractions. 
  • Monitor hotel activity during overnight hours and communicate operational or security concerns to the Manager on Duty and appropriate departments. 
  • Support emergency procedures and follow all hotel safety and security protocols. 
  • Communicate effectively with the Front Office, Royal Service, Housekeeping, Security, and other departments to ensure operational continuity. 
  • Complete the overnight pass-on and communicate relevant information to the incoming Front Office team. 
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in accordance with hotel procedures. 
  • Follow all Fairmont New Orleans policies, procedures, and financial controls. 
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling guest, colleague, and financial information. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Front Office environment. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous Front Office, Night Auditor, Guest Services, or hotel operations experience preferred. 
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel or upscale hospitality environment preferred. 
  • Previous accounting, cash handling, or financial reconciliation experience is an asset. 
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office operations and hotel accounting procedures. 
  • Previous experience with a Property Management System, preferably OPERA Cloud. 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, preferred. 
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and reconciliation skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong guest service and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when handling guest concerns and overnight operational issues. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. 
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as operationally required. 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
