Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Food & Beverage Operations & Administrative Intern to join the team at SLS Barcelona. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Management team, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all F&B outlets while developing a strong understanding of the administrative and commercial aspects of hotel operations.  

This position is ideal for someone looking to build a well-rounded career in Food & Beverage by combining operational exposure with administrative responsibilities. More specifically: 

 

Administrative & Management Support 

  • Provide administrative support to the Food & Beverage leadership team in their day-to-day activities. 

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. 

  • Help maintain and update menus, product information, pricing, and POS systems. 

  • Assist with departmental documentation, procedures, and internal communications. 

  • Support the preparation of presentations and business reviews for management meetings. 

Scheduling & Workforce Planning 

  • Support managers in the preparation and maintenance of team schedules and staffing plans. 

  • Ensure scheduling information is accurately updated and communicated. 

 

Operational Exposure & Outlet Support: 

  • Gain practical experience across several Food & Beverage outlets, supporting daily operations and service delivery. 

  • Greet all guests warmly and by name, escort guests to their table, provide chair assistance for all guests, and menu presentation.  

  • Approach guests and collect information needed to assist with seat arrangements.  

  • Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere where guests come to wind down and enjoy themselves.  

  • To serve food and beverage orders according to recipes and service standards.  

  • To be knowledgeable about products available.  

  • Work with the rest of the team in keeping things running smoothly and tidily, for both table and bar service.  

  • Support the implementation of brand standards and service excellence initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • You´re studying a bachelor´s/master´s degree in hospitality or a related field. 

  • You have the possibility to sign an agreement with your school for a period of preferably 6 months. 

  • Education: Degree in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or a related field. 

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of hotel food & beverage systems and software is a plus. 

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English. 

  • Multitasking & Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a keen eye for detail. 

  • Adaptability: Quick to learn and adapt to the unique culture and standards at SLS Barcelona. 

  • Positive Attitude: A humble, open-minded individual with a collaborative approach who thrives in a dynamic team environment. You embrace new ideas and are always open to doing things differently.
