Job Description

At Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort, we are looking for someone who sees beyond the numbers.
Of course, our next Director of Revenue needs to understand pricing, forecasting, segmentation, distribution, market share and profitability.
But that is only part of the job.
I am looking for someone who is curious enough to ask why: Why did the market move? Why did one segment perform while another didn't? Why are guests booking us rather than our competitors ... or why aren't they? Where are we leaving money on the table?
And most importantly: what are we going to do about it?

Revenue management today is no longer about sitting behind a screen and changing rates.
It is about understanding the entire business.

📊 Competitive positioning

Our Director of Revenue will be an important member of the hotel's leadership team and a genuine business partner to Sales, Marketing, Reservations, Operations, Finance and myself.
I want someone comfortable enough with numbers to challenge assumptions, but also close enough to the operation to understand the reality behind those numbers.
Someone who can walk into a revenue meeting not simply with a report of what happened last week, but with a point of view about what we should do next.
Someone who understands that AI, technology and revenue systems are powerful tools, but that no system replaces curiosity, commercial instinct and critical thinking.
And someone who is willing to challenge me when the data says we should think differently.
At Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort, you will be joining a 211-key premium resort with rooms, 28 suites and 29 private pool villas, operating in one of the world's most dynamic resort destinations.

You will work in a market where seasonality, international source markets, airlift, competitor behaviour, length of stay, distribution costs and rapidly changing booking patterns make revenue management anything but boring.

You will also join a team where we believe in giving leaders ownership of their business.

I don't expect perfection.
I expect curiosity, accountability, analysis and action.
If you enjoy asking questions, challenging conventional thinking, developing people and turning data into commercial opportunities, I would be very happy to meet you.
And if you are looking for a position where your role is simply to produce reports and tell us what happened yesterday... We probably aren't the right hotel for you. 😉
But if you want to help us decide what happens tomorrow, let's talk.

Qualifications

Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in Revenue Management, including at least 2–3 years as Director of Revenue, Revenue Manager or equivalent senior revenue leadership position, preferably within an international hotel group.

Strong resort revenue management experience, ideally within a competitive leisure destination, with a solid understanding of seasonality, international source markets, wholesalers, tour operators, OTAs, direct channels and dynamic pricing. Proven ability to develop and execute pricing, inventory, segmentation and distribution strategies that drive RevPAR, market share and overall profitability—not simply occupancy. Strong command of forecasting, budgeting and business analysis, with the ability to explain variances, identify underlying causes and translate data into clear commercial actions.

Demonstrated understanding of competitive performance and benchmarking, including STR metrics such as MPI, ARI and RGI, and the ability to turn market intelligence into strategy.

Excellent understanding of PMS, RMS, CRS, channel management and business-intelligence tools, with the curiosity to use technology and AI to improve analysis and decision-making rather than relying on systems to make decisions.

Strong understanding of distribution economics, including channel costs, commissions, parity, direct-booking strategy and the profitability of different segments and channels. Commercial understanding beyond Rooms Revenue, with the ability to contribute to total hotel revenue strategy, including suites and villas, groups/MICE, F&B and other revenue opportunities.

Proven ability to work closely with Sales, Marketing, E-Commerce, Reservations, Finance and Operations, ensuring that revenue strategy is understood and executed across the hotel. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to present recommendations, defend a strategy and constructively challenge the GM and Executive Committee when supported by data and commercial reasoning. Able to lead productive revenue meetings focused not only on what happened, but why it happened, what is changing and what actions should follow.

Strong business curiosity and understanding of external demand drivers, including airlift, source-market trends, competitor behaviour, events, economic conditions and changing booking patterns. Experience developing and coaching revenue and reservations colleagues, with a genuine interest in building capability within the team rather than creating dependency on the Director of Revenue.

Fluent English communication skills, Thai Language is a plus, previous experience working in Thailand environment is highly desirable.

Additional Information

Most importantly, we are looking for a commercially curious leader who does not simply report numbers, but questions them. Someone who can explain what happened, understand why it happened, challenge assumptions and recommend what we should do next.
