Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Account Manager to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with our most valuable clients, driving sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key corporate, diplomatic, MICE, travel trade, and high-value leisure accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to grow revenue, increase account production, and maximise business opportunities.
  • Proactively prospect and acquire new business, while identifying opportunities to increase room nights, meetings, events, dining, and other hotel revenue streams within existing accounts.
  • Conduct regular client visits, business reviews, sales calls, site inspections, and networking activities to understand client needs and strengthen relationships.
  • Prepare and negotiate proposals, RFPs, contracts, rates, and commercial agreements in line with the hotel's business strategy and profitability objectives.
  • Drive sales conversion by effectively presenting the hotel's luxury accommodation, dining, meetings, events, and unique guest experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue, Reservations, Front Office, F&B, Events, and other operational teams to ensure seamless delivery of client requirements and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Monitor account performance, room nights, revenue contribution, sales pipeline, forecasts, and key account KPIs, taking corrective action where required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information, activities, opportunities, and sales reports within the CRM and hotel sales systems.
  • Proactively identify market trends, competitor activity, emerging business opportunities, and changes in client requirements to support the hotel's commercial strategy.
  • Handle client concerns and service recovery matters promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
  • Represent the hotel professionally at trade shows, industry events, networking functions, client events, and other business development activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Sales & Marketing team to achieve hotel revenue, occupancy, market share, and business development objectives.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven sales or account management experience within a luxury or 4/5-star hotel environment, preferably with an international or recognised hospitality brand.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding hotel sales, revenue and business development targets.
  • Strong experience managing and developing corporate, MICE, diplomatic, government, travel trade and high-value leisure accounts.
  • Proven ability to prospect, acquire and convert new business while growing and retaining existing key accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of luxury hospitality sales, hotel products, market segmentation, competitor activity and customer expectations.
  • Experience in preparing and managing sales proposals, RFPs, contracts, account plans and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan and East African corporate, travel and luxury hospitality markets, with an established network considered an advantage.
  • Excellent relationship management, negotiation, networking, presentation and business development skills, with the confidence to engage senior decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial and analytical acumen, with the ability to monitor account production, revenue performance, market trends and sales opportunities and translate insights into action.
  • Proficiency in CRM and hotel sales systems, as well as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a polished, professional and service-oriented approach consistent with a luxury hospitality brand.
