Job Description
JOB OVERVIEW
The Assistant Director of Sales at Faena The Red Sea supports the Director of Sales in driving the hotel’s overall sales strategy and revenue performance across all key market segments, including luxury leisure, corporate, government and royal affairs, diplomatic, groups, MICE, entertainment, wholesale, consortia, and strategic partnerships across KSA, GCC, and international source markets.
This role is responsible for leading day-to-day sales activities, developing and managing high-value accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring a disciplined approach to account management, prospecting, conversion, and market penetration. The Assistant Director of Sales will work across segments to maximize rooms, suites, villas, group, event, dining, wellness, and exclusive buyout opportunities while supporting the positioning of Faena The Red Sea as one of the region’s leading ultra-luxury destinations.
As a key member of the Commercial leadership team, the Assistant Director of Sales will support the Director of Sales in leading the Sales team, coordinating cross-segment strategies, monitoring performance against targets, and ensuring strong collaboration with Revenue Management, Marketing, Events, Reservations, Operations, and other hotel departments. The role will also act as a senior commercial ambassador for Faena The Red Sea in key domestic and international markets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Support the DOS in developing and executing the hotel’s annual sales strategy, business plan, and segment action plans across all key markets.
· Drive business development across luxury leisure, corporate, government and royal affairs, diplomatic, groups, MICE, wholesale, consortia, entertainment, and other strategic segments.
· Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value accounts while actively prospecting for new business opportunities across KSA, GCC, and key international feeder markets.
· Support the Sales team in achieving individual and departmental revenue targets, account production goals, conversion objectives, and market share growth.
· Develop strong relationships with luxury travel advisors, tour operators, DMCs, consortia partners, corporate decision-makers, government entities, embassies, family offices, event planners, and other key intermediaries.
· Identify and convert opportunities for suites and villas, luxury leisure stays, corporate travel, groups, executive retreats, incentive programs, private events, celebrations, and exclusive buyouts.
· Lead and support negotiations for corporate agreements, preferred partnerships, group contracts, wholesale agreements, consortia opportunities, and other commercially beneficial arrangements.
· Conduct sales calls, presentations, site inspections, familiarization trips, client entertainment, and relationship-building activities to showcase Faena The Red Sea and the wider Red Sea destination.
· Represent Faena The Red Sea at key trade shows, roadshows, sales missions, networking events, client events, and industry forums in domestic and international markets.
· Work closely with Revenue Management to align sales activity with pricing strategy, need periods, market demand, displacement considerations, and revenue optimization objectives.
· Partner with Marketing and Communications on tactical campaigns, trade marketing initiatives, partner activations, sales collateral, and market-specific demand generation opportunities.
· Collaborate closely with Events, Reservations, and Operations to ensure accurate handover and seamless execution of group, VIP, corporate, leisure, and high-profile business.
· Maintain accurate account plans, sales activities, pipelines, opportunities, production data, call reports, and client information within the hotel CRM and commercial systems.
· Monitor competitor activity, market trends, feeder market performance, new openings, airline connectivity, major events, and other intelligence that may influence demand and sales strategy.
· Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, account reviews, and performance updates for the EAM – Commercial, highlighting opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
· Minimum 7+ years of progressive luxury hospitality sales experience, with exposure to multiple segments such as luxury leisure, corporate, government, groups, MICE, wholesale, or consortia.
· Previous experience in an Assistant Director of Sales, Senior Sales Manager, Account Director, or comparable leadership role within a luxury or ultra-luxury hotel environment strongly preferred.
· Strong network and market knowledge across KSA and GCC, combined with an understanding of key international luxury feeder markets.
· Strong understanding of Saudi business culture, protocol etiquette, and relationship-led commercial development.
· Proven track record in securing high-value accounts and complex VIP business.
· Exceptional communication, presence, and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to operate with absolute discretion and professionalism.
· Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and negotiation ability.
· Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and hotel commercial platforms.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Hospitality, International Relations, or related field preferred
