Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and professional Captain Waiter for our operations at Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi. The Captain Waiter will be a cornerstone of our front-of-house team, responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of service excellence. This position requires a decisive professional who can manage staff effectively, coordinate seamlessly with kitchen operations, and ensure every guest leaves with a memorable dining experience.
- Greet guests warmly, manage seating arrangements, and coordinate table assignments to optimize flow and guest satisfaction
- Oversee all aspects of service, including order accuracy, timing, and presentation
- Resolve guest concerns and complaints professionally and promptly, taking decisive action to ensure satisfaction
- Coordinate communication between front-of-house and kitchen staff to maintain service efficiency and quality
- Conduct staff training sessions on service protocols, menu knowledge, and customer interaction techniques
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations throughout the dining area
- Manage reservations and special requests, communicating effectively with guests and team members
- Maintain detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and wine or beverage pairings to assist guests
- Perform opening and closing duties, including station setup and inventory checks
- Provide performance feedback to team members and contribute to staff development initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in restaurant service management
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Exceptional customer service skills with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; multilingual abilities are preferred
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in high-pressure situations
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of food safety, health codes, and sanitation regulations
- Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Experience in training and mentoring hospitality staff is preferred
- Familiarity with wine service and beverage knowledge is advantageous
