Job Description

As Events Manager, you’ll take ownership of the operational delivery of events across Hyde Perth and FARRA, ensuring every event is delivered seamlessly, safely and to an exceptional standard from set-up through to pack-down.

Working closely with the Events Sales Team, F&B Operations, Restaurant and Bar teams, you’ll be the key operational lead on event days , coordinating staff, suppliers, service, beverage requirements, event spaces and last-minute operational requirements. You’ll ensure what has been sold to the client is delivered consistently, while creating memorable guest experiences that reflect the Hyde Perth and FARRA brands.

You’ll also play an important role in the planning and execution of ticketed events, activations, seasonal experiences and brand-led events, helping to bring concepts to life through strong operational planning, team leadership and attention to detail.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the operational delivery of events across Hyde Perth and FARRA, ensuring a smooth and high-quality guest experience from set-up through to pack-down.
  • Acting as the event lead on the day, coordinating staff, suppliers, timing, service and operational requirements.
  • Coordinating and managing event staff, including rostering, briefing, training and on-the-day supervision.
  • Ensuring all event staff are appropriately trained on service standards, menus, beverages, event procedures and guest experience expectations.
  • Managing beverage requirements, including ordering, stock preparation, delivery, set-up and reconciliation.
  • Coordinating the set-up and pack-down of event spaces, ensuring rooms are presented according to the event brief and venue standards.
  • Ensuring all event equipment, furniture, glassware, bar equipment and operational items are properly maintained, accounted for and stored correctly.
  • Working closely with the Sales Team to ensure operational delivery reflects what has been sold and agreed with the client.
  • Working closely with the F&B Operations Manager, Bar Manager and Restaurant Manager to maintain consistency in service, beverage standards and operational procedures.
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of Hyde Perth / FARRA brand events, including ticketed events, activations and seasonal experiences.
  • Supporting the development of event concepts and assisting with event planning, logistics, staffing, beverage requirements and operational run sheets.
  • Leading the operational execution of ticketed events promoted by the hotel, ensuring they are delivered to brand and guest experience standards.
  • Maintaining clear communication between Events, F&B Operations, Restaurant and Bar teams before, during and after each event.
  • Monitoring event performance on the day and proactively resolving operational issues, guest concerns and last-minute changes.
  • Ensuring all events comply with RSA, safety, responsible service and hotel operational standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of organisation, cleanliness and presentation across all event spaces and storage areas.
  • Assisting with reviewing event processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service and profitability.

Qualifications

You’ll be a confident and hands-on events professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You’ll bring strong operational knowledge, excellent people skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional events and guest experiences.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Proven experience in events coordination or event management, ideally within hospitality, hotels or restaurants.
  • Strong bar and beverage knowledge, including event beverage service and stock management.
  • Demonstrated people management and leadership skills, with the ability to brief, train and motivate casual event teams.
  • Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).
  • Current Managers Red Card.
  • Excellent organisation and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work confidently with both clients and internal operational teams.
  • A hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership of event delivery and make decisions on the day.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays depending on the event calendar.
  • Full availability during peak season (September–March) is essential, as this is the busiest period for events.

DESIRABLE

  • Basic knowledge of iVvy for event management and function operations.
  • Basic knowledge of SevenRooms for restaurant/event reservations and guest management.
  • Experience using Purchase Plus or similar purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Previous experience working within a hotel or multi-outlet F&B operation.
  • Experience delivering ticketed events, activations and branded hospitality experiences.
