Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team in Sepang, Malaysia. In this role, you will lead and inspire a dedicated housekeeping team while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be a multi-tasker capable of working independently and collaboratively, performing complex duties to support your team's success. You will communicate effectively with all contacts, anticipate and resolve issues proactively, and ensure your team has the tools, guidance, and motivation needed to excel.
- Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all service standards and organizational policies are consistently followed
- Provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests and internal stakeholders at all times
- Handle guest concerns with empathy and efficiency, logging issues and notifying appropriate departments promptly
- Conduct daily briefings and team meetings to inform room attendants about priorities, expectations, and departmental updates
- Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to develop their skills and foster a collaborative team environment
- Monitor work quality and performance, providing constructive feedback and recognition to support continuous improvement
- Ensure all safety, sanitation, and health protocols are strictly adhered to throughout the department
- Identify and report maintenance issues, equipment needs, and inventory requirements to appropriate management
- Evaluate operational challenges and make decisive, accurate decisions to resolve issues quickly
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and contribute to process improvements and innovative solutions
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to team performance, guest feedback, and departmental operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a hotel housekeeping environment
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly
- Proven ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and professionalism
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to understand, clarify, and address concerns raised by team members and guests
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with speed, accuracy, and follow-through in all assigned duties
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while remaining collaborative and supportive
- Demonstrated leadership and team motivation abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of housekeeping standards, best practices, and guest service excellence
- Physical capability to perform assigned duties, including frequent standing, walking, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven training and coaching skills
- Experience handling guest complaints and resolving conflicts professionally
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation protocols specific to hospitality environments
