Novotel Surfers Paradise is conveniently located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, close to all forms of public transport and our iconic beaches. The hotel features 408 rooms, along with a variety of dining options including: Boulevard Café & Bar, The Restaurant and in-room dining.  We offer a professional and relaxed atmosphere, providing genuine hospitality for our guests.  For our guests wanting to unwind we offer a heated outdoor swimming pool & spa, tennis courts and gym. For our conferencing & events guests we have 6 modern function rooms available, accommodating up to 500 delegates.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Housekeeping Team Leader to join our housekeeping leadership team and help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

A unique part-time (minimum guarantee 30 hours per week) opportunity as Housekeeping Team Leader has become available in our housekeeping leadership team.

Some of the things you'll be doing include;

• Lead, motivate and support housekeeping team members during daily operations.
• Allocate room assignments and monitor productivity to ensure efficient workflow, opening and closing shifts.
• Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure quality standards are consistently met to brand standards.
• Assist with training, coaching, and onboarding of new team members.
• Support the Housekeeping Manager with rostering, attendance management, and operational planning.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Manage guest requests and resolve housekeeping-related concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with linen, amenities, and chemical inventory control.
• Support the team during peak periods and maintain a positive, high-performing work environment.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Assisting the Housekeeping Management team in the day-to-day operations of all areas of the Housekeeping department.
• Communicating on a daily basis with the Housekeeping Management team and respective departments to ensure an effective flow of communication.
• Providing “on the job” training and inductions to support our energetic housekeeping team. 
• Briefing team members providing updates and key OHS updates.
• Logging lost property; assisting with guests requests and resolving guest complaints.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous housekeeping supervisory or team leadership experience within a hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations and cleaning standards.
• Experience working in large hotels or high-volume accommodation environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• A passion for hospitality and guest service.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop team members.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
• Full Working rights in Australia.

What we're looking for,

• Previous experience with training and leading a housekeeping team
• Previous experience using Opera Cloud, HubOs, Zambion (Ready Workforce) desirable.
• Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
• A team player that leads by example.
• A keen eye for detail with a hands-on approach.
