Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Housekeeping Manager to join our team in Gandhinagar, India. As Housekeeping Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction across all guestrooms, public areas, and facilities. You will be responsible for managing staff, implementing operational procedures, maintaining compliance with health and sanitation standards, and fostering a collaborative team environment that prioritizes excellence and innovation. - Lead, supervise, and manage the housekeeping team by providing clear communication, comprehensive training, coaching, and constructive performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency and staff development
- Conduct daily inspections of all guestrooms, public areas, exterior spaces, and back-of-house areas to maintain the highest cleanliness standards and ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Monitor and oversee the completion of deep cleaning programs, assign tasks strategically, and ensure smooth workflow throughout the department
- Manage staff recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions while maintaining transparent and empathetic communication with all team members
- Issue daily assignments to staff, review special requests and priority areas, and ensure optimal coordination of housekeeping operations
- Control inventory by issuing supplies and goods to staff at the beginning of shifts, ensuring adequate resources are available while managing expenses effectively
- Maintain and manage the Lost and Found system, logging items accurately and responding to guest inquiries to ensure satisfaction and accountability
- Respond promptly to guest questions and requests, providing assistance, direction, and information to enhance the guest experience
- Ensure strict compliance with accident prevention programs, health and sanitation regulations, and quality assurance standards to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Analyze operational data, identify areas for improvement, and recommend and implement procedural changes to enhance efficiency and service quality
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate services and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary to support organizational goals and guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop housekeeping teams effectively
- Service-focused personality with a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction and exceptional customer care
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with staff, guests, and stakeholders
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work effectively in stressful and high-pressure situations
- Hospitality-oriented mindset with experience in hotel or facility management environments
- Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Word and Excel; prior experience with hotel management systems such as Opera, Alice, or Opera Cloud is highly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Budget management and cost control experience with demonstrated ability to manage departmental expenses
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations and compliance standards
- Physical capability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds; ability to move throughout the building, bend, stoop, and reach as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a decisive and transparent approach to decision-making
- Ability to lead by example, foster a collaborative team culture, and set the scene for high performance
- Experience in staff recruitment, performance management, and training and development
- Innovative mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational enhancement
- Resilient and adaptable approach to managing changing priorities and operational challenges
Additional Information
8-10 Years of experience in Housekeeping within a midscale or branded hotel.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management or an equivalent qualification.
